Palma Heming took up square dancing with her late husband George in 1993 when several other couples in their Calgary Flying Club group decided to give it a try. They were hooked the first night and are certainly thankful for the opportunity to meet so many new friends. In 1996, Palma attended Caller School and in 1999 Palma started calling and cueing for the Hi-Land Swingers Square Dance Club. Palma teaches and calls Mainstream square dancing as well as cueing Phase II Round Dancing. Palma has called at several Provincial and National conventions, the Annual Acme and Holiday Ranch weekend campouts and has filled in as guest caller for Clubs outside the Calgary area.
